It’s funny how trends go full circle! In the 90’s patches were majorly on trend, from patch denim jeans to jackets – and now two decades later, the patches are back and on the high street. But instead of encouraging you to buy into this trend, I say we take a look in our wardrobe. In 2010, a poll by ShopSmart revealed that women own on average 7 pairs of jeans, but wear just 4 pairs on a regular basis, and I think it’s fair to say most of us are still a part of that stat. So, this season, instead of buying into the throwback trend, I decided to refresh my denim.
Despite owning over a dozen pairs of jeans, I decided to refresh my beloved denim jacket from Simply Be using some of the best patches and badges ASOS and Zara has to offer. I have to confess, I had way more fun figuring out which set to use and where to place them, than I would have roaming around the high-street – yes, I did just say that!
Unfortunately, some of the patches and badges as seen aren’t in stock. But you are still able to get your hands on the Ohh Deer Rainbow Iron On Patch and Badge Set – which is currently on sale – and the Limited Edition Lets Party Badge Pack.
Whether you decide to refresh and patch up your denim jacket, jeans or anything else for that matter, have fun this summer and get creative. The patches were super easy to iron on and even take off, making it ideal for those who may not want to rock the patches all the time. Next mission: patch up some jeans and a clutch bag!
