5 Ways To Get The Golden Globe Look

I love this time of the year, although I’m never invited to any of the award ceremonies, award seasons one of my favourite times – other than fashion week – and yesterday everyone went all out (some too out but hey that’s what it’s all about).

5) Ladies in red.
I’m a major fan of red and think red goes with any and all complexions, whether you are dark, tanned or pale, red has to be a good start. So, ladies get your red dresses out and you may even win a globe.

Emma Watson in Christian Dior.
Julie Delpy in Romona Keveza
Amy Adams in Maison Valentino.
Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren.

This is how you go red! I love that we are seeing more red on the red carpet, at times this can be an epic fail but done correctly and with the right styling this can work so well!

4) Embellishment.

Embellishment was another major trend on the red carpet yesterday. Some of my favourite and the most beautiful women (in my eyes) wore extravagant embellished dresses. Embellishment is definitely a trend of 2013 which has carried onto 2014. Can you rock it?

Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung.
Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta.
Michelle Dockery in Oscar de la Renta
Margot Robbie in Gucci

I am so in love with Michelle Dockery’s hair, make-up, dress, HER! For that golden globe look go for embellishment..

3)Smokey Eyes.

I haven’t had much experience with eye make-up but I do love (to look at) a smokey eye, whether it’s dark or bronzed, the classic eye make-up really draws attention to your eyes with a sense of mystery and it’s clear that many of these celeb’s wanted to give off that look. Who said you can’t bring sexy and mystery to the red carpet? Definitely not Amber Heard, Emma Stone or Mila Kunis..

Smokey eye is the way forward but don’t go overboard, if you are not too sure on how to do the smokey eye effect here is a great video on how to do it.

2) Black and White

I am crazy for these two simple colours, not only is black really slimming (or maybe that’s a lie that us women tell ourselves) but it is also a really cool colour to wear and white looks beautiful on everyone.

Black and white was definitely a popular choice yesterday and here are some of my favourites from the RC.

Alison Williams in Alexander McQueen

Hayden Panettiere in Tom Ford

1) Updo’s: to show off that gorgeous face

An updo is a must when showing off your face especially if you have dramatic makeup. My last Golden Globe look has to be a good updo, whether it’s messy or slicked, a good updo can lift and lighten your face.

Kate Mara
Margot Robbie

And that is how you get the Golden Globe Awards look. Of course don’t forget a good manicure, jewels and lippy! Ladies, go get your awards!!
