How to wear Summer’s coolest shade now and later
This fresh, dreamy shade of pastel green has rapidly become one of my favourite colours to wear this year. I am, of course, talking about the sorbet-esque sage, although you’ve probably already seen it peppered throughout Instagram feeds and coveted by influencers. Even if you’re not usually a fan of green, I think this specific shade ultimately has the power to change that. It’s not too in-your-face and can easily be incorporated into a minimalist wardrobe, or one that is generally comprised of a more neutral colour scheme. I bet you’ll find it surprisingly easy to match with pieces you already own, too! What’s not to love? A chic, polished shade you can effortlessly incorporate into your wardrobe without the hassle of requiring a whole new one just to make it work. Whatever your own personal style looks like, I can bet an injection of sage green wouldn’t go amiss. It’s something you can take throughout (what’s left of) the Summer and well into Autumn/Winter because of it’s cool-toned nature. Though I will add, I don’t personally subscribe to colours being seasonally restricted- I get my kicks from wearing Autumnals in Spring. So all year round and for years to come, you’re good to go with this classy, timeless hue. Here are some ways to wear it featuring some choice pieces I’ve scouted out. From my wishlist, to yours.

This Oliver Bonas Mini Dress: I absolutely adore this simple yet structured silhouette, not to mention the cute sweetheart neckline. To play on the 90’s influence I suggest styling with a chain strap shoulder bag, gold earrings and strappy heeled sandals. Oh, and don’t shy away from throwing on a cropped denim jacket or cardi over the top.

Incorporate through pattern. Who said block colours get to have all the fun? Introducing this marble, watercolour print mesh top from H&M. A little sheer and a little ruched. How good would this look layered under some dungarees or a strappy denim dress?!

This blazer from Violeta by Mango and co-ordinating trousers:
Available in up to a UK size 26, this is the stunning plus-size suit we deserve. I envision the blazer paired with a simple white tee, straight jeans, trainers and finished off with statement, conversation-starting sunnies. Swapping out the jeans, the co-ordinating trousers would look just as good in the above outfit, or perhaps with a puff sleeve blouse and pointy heels. Also, this suit was just made for pearl accessories.

For the colder months ahead, try this lightweight sweater from & Other Stories. I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with the ‘mock neck’. I’m already looking forward to knitwear season – I guess that’s what a mediocre Scottish Summer will do for your spirits. Speaking of which, I can see this layered over a midi dress and styled with long boots when Autumn does arrive. Even now, as the evenings get colder, it’s a good one to grab and pull over light summer dresses that aren’t quite cutting it warmth-wise.
Lastly, for a non-committal splash of sage, look no further than this crossbody bag. This might just be the perfect grab-and-go bag of the moment. For extra fashion points, sport her during the Winter with a vastly oversized coat, clutched nonchalantly in the crook of your arm. If that’s not street-style gold, I don’t know what is.
